When The Fisherman Comes Around

Dudes and girls here with their dudes that they are so not dating--what, can't we just hang out?!:

January is a month of many freezings: the smaller lakes, the water pipes in your poorly managed efficiency, that shit in your sinuses that is setting like dental plaster, and of course Windows 98. But, it needn't be the month that your brain goes solid so that fishermen must bore holes into it in hopes of finding your thoughts. No, it needn't be that way at all with the help of this week's Link Battle. "But Sidebar, wait, there's still a battle going on!" you say with emphasis added to my name and only one mitten on despite the cold weather. True, and I will call that mo-fo on Saturday (between you and me: it's probably going to be Belle but Aquarium might get the link anyway), until then I've decided to give everyone a head start on the next fight Round VI--which will end Saturday the 17th even if no one votes. That said, vote...please. Or at least, suggest someone you'd like to see in the ring. Blah, blah, blah...it's time for:

Link Battle, Round VI
If you could just think a little quieter, I'm trying to be dumb over here. A battle of two smart blogs.

At Large, Split Infinitive Is a great site to visit if you ever wondered what NPR sounds like to those people who actually listen to it for information rather than its reliable playlist of sounds not made by Creed, Britney Spears, Chingy, or Blink 41. Not a great deal of original content but the in-post links are worth chasing and the content that is original sews everything together rather nicely. It's also worth mentioning that At Large makes reference to The New Yorker being perfect bound which is so fucking hi-larious that I won't even finish this sentence This is the kind of blog you would probably discuss at your local estaminet and one that you would likely write if you knew what an estaminet was.

vs.

Log Starts out slow with infrequent content additions (think WWKAD but orange) but is worth poking around. There's not much in the way of a front page and the aesthetic seems to be somewhere just south of woodcarving but a little time spent inside log is sure to yield some pleasant splinters; and Barf on the outside, Garf on the inside is certainly one of them.

And now, the future is in your hands.

Yours dearly,

Going with Log - the poetry corner locked it up for me.

Add another notch to Log's belt. The barf/garf story did it for me. I'm not a fan of blogs whose posts are just primarily links elsewhere such as the other contender, so, to re-iterate: Log.

I'm leaning At Large. I got a strange read off the whole covnersation post on Log today...close to saying AL but I'll give it a few more days.

I support At Large Split Infinitive cuz I'm large and I would like me a spliff. Fuck, that says Split doesn't it...shit, I'm staying put. At Large in 04! I've got to throw up now, bye.
