The Madison Blogosphere Becomes Self-Aware

Recently I've become aware that Madison has its own blogosphere.  Huh?!  Tell me about it.

What's doubly-strange about all this is that bloggers seem to have started wondering aloud about other Madison blogs right around the same time.  I bet this is how it was when the idea of agriculture dropped out on the plains; these are just three curious locals that I could find:

Add to that list, a comment from a Madison reader and now incoming links from something called Madison Miscellany.  Talk about everything hits at once.

I may not be the oldest blogger on the square (though I'd wager I'm the one who's turned the occasional recognition into the most free drinks) but after this week in links, I feel positively uniformed about the whereabouts of my own city's nerds.  Have I really neglected them for so long or have they neglected me?  And conservative Madison bloggers?  I still don't get that; probably never will.

I fully expect this topic to be discussed at this week's Beer-Goggle Bar Boggle; speaking of which...

Whatever the discussion, I refuse to have a Madison Blogs blogroll.

BGBB--tonight. C'mon...

Whatcha got? BGBB tonight? E-mail list, ASSEMBLE!!!

Additionally, poker on Sunday? Jenny Ex is in for games!

I had to study my blog in order to recall what you're referring to. As you can see, not a lot came from that inquiry.

Yeah, as I poked around it seems that Madison's bloggers are a pretty disconnected bunch. Maybe we need a yearbook, or a special handshake.

Will Saturday's Roller Derby match remedy all this ships-passing-in-the-night business? Maybe. I suppose there's always BGBB.

Here's a second chance: Madison bloggers, identify yourselves; the power of the one true Internet compels thee!

I got a blog from someone trying to organize a Madison blogger meetup, but as with so much of my correspondence, I promptly forgot about it.

Make that e-mail. I got an e-mail.

Is that like one of Arlen Specter's "computer letters"?

NERDS!!!

Far out. Small world. Although I don't know you Aaron or Jennifer, I do know Kenneth. Either way or, you two take some really good pictures. It always does my heart good to see pictures of Chicago. I was born down in that mess of buildings somewhere.

You make me miss Genna's more than I already did. I used to hang out there regularly. Actually hosted the open mic for awile. That was fun shit. Of course, I moved. I always move.
